How it works

The Christian Home Exchange Fellowship is a non-profit making Christian organisation which enables members to enjoy a low-priced holiday by exchanging their homes with other Christian families in the UK or abroad.

CHEF maintains lists of members which are circulated to members only. When you become a member you are given a user name and password to enable you to access these lists. A printed list is avaible for those who do not have internet access.These lists contain family details and information about the home and its surroundings. They also include the time of year when the family would like to take their holidays. Two lists are available: UK list covers  home exchanges requested within United Kingdom only and the other, UK + International list covers UK, Europe and the rest of the world.

You study the lists carefully and find a family with whom you feel you would like to exchange your home.  You contact them by telephone or e-mail and start a dialogue which may well end up with two families having a holiday of their lives with absolutely no cost for the accommodation!  It's as simple as that!

Full guidelines are issued on how to ensure a successful swap and your home is protected from burglars whilst you are away!  Free advice is always available at any time. CHEF is probably the least expensive scheme of its kind anywhere in the world!
